This Is the Run: Soulcalibur - Part 09

Someone should probably tell Vinny that SC has air control. If you hold backwards when you've been launched, you'll go flying a million miles across the stage. He's knocked himself out more than a few times this way.

I like how into this Vinny is getting.

Also, there should be frame data available if you really want to go nuts on analyzing Soul Calibur (Vinny mentioned he doesnt understand what causes certain moves to come out first, so reading up on this could help him with this...)

Vinny playing Taki is really fun to watch.

I feel like Vinny had a better chance early on. Now they they are regularly doing this, Dan's muscle memory of 16 or so years is kicking in and he is becoming harder to beat.

This is the first Run I've watched of Soulcalibur and man, what is up with Dan doing after hits when the round is over? That shit is some straight up 9-year-old kid stuff, infuriated me every time he did it.

I don't know if this is Dan playing into his 'heel' character or has been established in prior episodes but damn, have some respect. Vinny is a patient man, I would've put Dan through a wall with that stuff by now.

I liked this series more when it was a coop game.

This Soul Calibur looks better than my Soul Calibur 2 on Wii/Gamecube. I've been doing the Team battles with my daughter because of this series and was surprised by how bad it looks.

@kurrelgyre: I see Vinny on xbox one playing it through BC often, so I'd imagine the ease of use with that setup is what they're using.

@tekzero: pick up soulcalibur 2 hd on ps3 or 360. looks a ton better :) i dont think its that much money either plus it has the weapon master mode for singleplayer

But...I mean, she has a skirt on. A long, flowy, Valkyrian skirt. The camera doesn't exactly fly under her skirt to catch angles, it just captures her doing moves. I'm not trying to put you down man but being someone who has thoroughly experienced fan service, this is incredibly tame.

After this, they should do Nuclear Throne Co-op for the next This Is The Run!

This is my original launch release with 100% completion and a ton of logged hours. There's no way I'm doing that grind again.

I was so close to skipping this one, but I would've missed that handshake goof at the beginning and that would've been a tragedy.

Vinny might be training himself on some bad habits fighting against the CPU. I play Smash competitively, don't know much about Soulcalibur, but training against real people is key.

Fight Stick is required!
