Mass Alex

Mass Alex: Mass Effect 2 - Part 13

It's all about that loyalty and the code in this episode as Commander Navarro secures his crew.

There are billions of stories in the universe, so why not play the best one?

I love this game, but I forgot enamored it was with the word 'bitch.' Guess that was the word of the early 2010's, 'cause I remember hearing it like every two minutes in Arkham City, too.

Samara is interesting, she's a bit ethereal in all she does but I kind of enjoy her as a character, especially her upcoming conflict with Morinth. Love how lost they continue to get on Illium.

If you ever need to hide from Alex, just cover yourself in flashing red text that reads "reload."

Old video but imma comment anyways.

The thing that has struck me about Mass Effect in general while watching this is that I, having never played the games, knew all the ME1 companions by name before playing any of it, or watching Alex play it.

But the Mass Effect 2 cast? Keeps surprising me. Never heard of any of them except Miranda and maybe Mordin. I'd definitely *seen* Jack, go figure internet, but people didn't ever talk about her.

People seem to favor 2 the most so why haven't characters like Grunt, Thane, Jack, Kasumi or Samara reached the same notoriety of the likes of Garrus, Tali, Wrex and Liara? Did everyone just stick to the ME1 crew in 2?

@tevor_the_third: Delayed answer here: I don't favor 2 over 1 so I can't really answer for those folks but I'm guessing it's because Bioware failed to tie these new characters' story into the main plot beyond that they're "guns for hire".

I remember enjoying interacting with Samara (and possibly Legion) the most in ME2 but few of them have any kind of arc and their missions have little to do with collectors or reapers. It's still a very good narrative compared to other video games in general but I can't help feel that most of the new characters while unique, are a little 2-dimensional. Plus there is not enough Hanar or Elcor dialogue in this sequel :)
