Sniper Elite would be awesome in VR if they did a similar thing with the scope.

Might be worth mentioning that this is made by the new studio from Dean Hall, the guy who created DayZ and worked on Arma games before. I like the idea of him using stuff about realistic game mechanics learned from games like those and using those in a much more arcade-y style of game to just make the simple act of shooting more interesting and fun.

If you like the gun stuff you guys should check out Raw Data. It's got a ton of weapons which all have cool, intuitive ways to reload them.

It's weird now that VR videos are just commonplace parts of our culture now. And how Jason has to come in to assist in damn near all of them.

You need to get your own Jason to manage the cables for you.

It was 13 minutes! I knew there had to be something wrong. I was convinced this was a 30 minute video and couldn't get over how fast 30 minutes flew by. Turns out it was a 13 minute video, my faith in my sense of time has been restored.

@naion: The thing that's tripping up Dan is the extra cable they're running for audio. They don't seem to have attached it to the headset's cable in any way, so it separates and gets wrapped around him. It might also be too short. The cable has been a non-issue in my experience, except when I put the Vive in a huuuuuge room and walk to the other side, and even then it's just a gentle tugging at the back of my head.

The more I see the GB team take a look at VR games out now, the more I don't want any of these games. For my tastes, VR still needs to cook for another five years.

It seems so dumb that the Vive exists with those wires to trip over. Especially in America where everyone sues at the drop of a hat. Glad it does though. ;)

I think clipping the cable to your belt would help with the management as you wouldn't have as much weight pulling on the headset. Maybe use one of those streachy key holders that stretch out and then retract when tension is removed.

One of my favourite recent trends in videos on Giant Bomb has to be Jeff's genuine amusement to Dan's adverse reactions / experiences in VR.

There is something about this that reminds me of playing with little green army men in my bedroom as a kid. I think I might be OK with that.

I like the concept of this game but am really disappointed that they went with the generic and terrible "middle eastern" type for the enemies. Game Devs, you can do better.

The Vive technically only has one wire going from it, as all 3 wires that come out of it are attached into one big wire. They're only having trouble with it because they have extra cables because of their audio setup.

ISIS brought middle-eastern enemies back into vogue, and Putin's shenanigans have done the same for Russians. I think God ran out of ideas for the human race and just handed off the reigns to Tom Clancy's ghost.

I can hardly put into words how not fun it is to watch other people play VR games. Hopefully this fad dies off soon and we can get a GB video product worth paying for again.

This "fad" will die off when the "fad" of video games dies off. So, probably never. VR ain't going nowhere, it's only just barely getting started.

As has probably been said, you really do develop a sixth sense for the cable and it stops being an issue real quick. It looked like they just had some funky issue on set due to their weird studio setup, because the audio cable, for example, should never, ever pop out for any reason.

Even in a game where you spin around a lot, you'll "unwind" maybe once an hour at most. It's a super minor issue once you actually use the thing for an extended period.
