Unfinished: Out of Ammo 04/20/2016

Man, VR games look... boring. I'm sure there is a whole lot I'm missing by not being in the headset, but these games all look boring as hell from the outside.

Why would you run that second cable down the front of the headset? That makes no sense at all!

As someone who really enjoyed Toy Soldiers, I think this looks fucking incredible. This is VR!

Is this what WW2 was like for god?

Dan's struggle with the wires reminded me of Colonel Wilberforce in the air control tower in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

That's just VR in general. Wearing the headset and actually doing that stuff yourself makes pretty much every game like 10x better.

Dan would never cheat on Taco Bell, that is a relationship you take to the grave (literally it will take you to the grave).

I wonder if Warcraft 4 could be like this? The game would have to require a lot less APM, but that would be easily done with a modern UI and smarter unit AI.

The closest thing to a dog chasing its tail is a human avoiding his vr cord.

Anyone else already bored with VR? it feels like the Motion control fad all over again.

I used to be a subscriber. This is my point. Once the VR honeymoon is over for the guys I'd be happy to re-up, but watching VR play (and hearing about it for an hour on the bombcast every week) is dreadful.

Man, I've yet to see a single thing that looks compelling, and every VR game makes the whole thing look like a fad in that it's fun for maybe an hour as a novelty. But I imagine watching it from the outside makes them even worse. Though I'm becoming increasingly convinced that VR shows more promise for its non-gaming aspects than it does for the gaming ones.

THIS! is a cool as game

Seems pretty cool, but also way too difficult to keep all of the plates spinning. Also, as with every VR game I've seen, looks like it'd be fun for ~30 minutes max and then I'd be done. That sniping system seems kind of awesome, though. I'd rather see a game built around that as the main mechanic.

It's good to see that VR is still here. I really need to get on welfare soon and start saving up.

Man these VR videos are tough to watch. Dan's head is the camera and he's flinging us around the environment and never seems to stop moving. Some amount of finesse is needed when demoing VR guys.

This makes me think that a Battlefield 2142 game would make for great VR.

Progressive and HG Quick Look video is now part of premium. So technically, if you are paying for premium, you are paying for Quick Looks.

I was quite surprised with Dan being able to pluck the soldier guy out of thin air after he was thrown upward. I guess they might have increased the circle of the "hitbox" (for want of a better word) for contact with a hand when he's in the air, but then I've never played a VR game to see how accurate perspective is in that situation.

Guess it's the first time I've seen someone so offended by VR QLs.

Some of the funniest content recently has come from VR, especially that Will Smith Firewatch demo XD

@assinass: Comprehension much? Never said I was offended, or that quick look videos were the main problem for me. I just think this stuff sucks and it's boring to watch/hear about. I spoke with my wallet.

Great idea for a VR game, I like the implementation a lot. Brings a fun spin on the typical tower defence, but it seems fairly chaotic.

I don't own this game, but I can juggle in budget cuts and job simulator just fine. The controllers are really accurate. I was going to try juggling the controllers but I want some kind of mat on the floor just to make sure I don't mess them up.

When did I say you were offended? lol To me it just seemed like VR content offended you to your core that this is your breaking point as a subscriber. Just like QL EXs or Patrick Klepek used to be for some former subscribers. A deluge of MOBA or card battle QLs would offend me if it ever came to pass :P

I like the idea of the sniper thing, but I guess like the roller coaster not actually making anyone sick with the loops, you don't have a heavy gun and a shoulder you can brace your gun on, so you wobble like Dan does.

I love the look on Jeff's face as the video fades out. Sums up my feelings about games on my Vive.

@simkas: Even the stock Vive cord by itself is a bit of an annoyance.
